This airport is ultra-modern with dynamically designed buildings and steel structures clad with glazed curtain walls, capped with a lightweight, free-flowing wave and metal roofs giving the notion of flight, though it is firmly anchored to the ground with solid podium edifices. Built by our Buildings Infrastructure business vertical, it features a swanky 65,000 Sq. m Passenger Terminal Building which is an expression of the region with palm-like pillars; a 4,000 m long runway and a 57 m tall ATC tower. Some salient aspects are the exclusive cast glass water feature at the entrance and exit; canopies that break up the large terminal roof into smaller, attractive units; a VIP facility that is traditional in design and material. The pillar-like columns are evocative of the palm trees that are abundant in the region and when lit, they create the impression of floating columns.
