Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) IC has been awarded the Golden Peacock Business Excellence Award 2024 (Construction category) at a ceremony of Institute of Directors (IOD), UAE Global Convention held in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of government officials, diplomats, business, and industry leaders.

L&T earned top honours for Sustainable Practices, and was ranked No.1 in the Capital Goods Sector and No.17 among the Top 50 Most Sustainable Companies in India by Businessworld (BW). Commemorative awards for these rankings were conferred on L&T at the Sustainable World Conclave hosted by BW in New Delhi on 20-21 June.

The prestigious award celebrates India Inc’s contributions in terms of sustainable practices towards building a sustainable and resilient society.

L&T won the Gold award in the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion category for Best Advance in Leadership Development Program for Women from the Brandon Hall Group. Additionally, L&T picked up a Bronze award in the Learning & Development category for Best Advance in Creating Learning Strategy.

In addition, our Construction Skills Training Institute (CSTI) was also recognised for their initiatives in skill development and blended learning programmes. 2022

Construction World, India’s largest circulated construction business magazine, named Larsen & Toubro as one of India’s Most Admired Construction Brands. After a perception-based survey, the top 20 brands were put to a power-packed jury panel, whose members then selected the top 10 brands to be featured in the list of winners.

“Machinery might be there, buildings might be there, but without people it’s all nothing. People are our greatest assets,” said one of our Founding Fathers, Mr. Henning Holck-Larsen; keeping that tradition alive, L&T has won the ‘Company with Great Managers Award’ for the second time in a row. There was more to cheer as three of our managers, B. Dhanasekaran, Chief Engineering Manager – Heavy Civil Infrastructure IC; Anup Chulliyil, Project Director – Buildings & Factories IC; and Jagannathan P., Head – SCM, Water & Effluent Treatment IC, were recognized as ‘Great Managers 2022’.

L&T’s CEO & MD Mr S N Subrahmanyan has been named the Best CEO in the infrastructure & engineering segment in the latest ranking by Business Today-Price water house Coopers.

Announcing the ranking, Business Today stated that SNS “is constructing a new L&T that remains true to its core, yet takes on new stripes that make it a more relevant organisation for the times”, and that his “track record made it relatively easy for the jury to declare him the winner”.

Mr Naik was conferred the honour for demonstrating outstanding leadership in the corporate world over the years. This honour is part of the 17th edition of CNBC-TV18’s coveted India Business Leaders’ Awards (IBLA), a highly sought-after recognition of business excellence that celebrates the outstanding contribution of leaders across business, policy, sports, arts and entertainment. The awards were presented by Standard Chartered in partnership with Hindustan Times.

Larsen & Toubro won two coveted international awards at the Association for Talent Development (ATD) International Conference and Exposition 2022 – held in Orlando, Florida, on 16 May 2022 – by bagging the ‘ATD BEST Award 2022’ and ‘ATD Excellence in Practice Award 2022’ in the areas of leadership and talent development.

The ATD BEST Award 2022 is a coveted recognition for talent development that recognizes organization-wide implementation. The ATD Excellence in Practice Award 2022 was won by L&T in the ‘Leadership & Management’ category for the winning practice titled ‘Leadership Development of High Potential Mid-Level Managers’, which focused specifically on developing the competencies of leaders and managers, including emotional quotient, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Only infrastructure company to feature in prestigious list

L&T’s CEO & MD, Mr. S. N. Subrahmanyan, was featured in the Utilities Middle East’s list of the 'Top 50 Most Influential People' in the GCC utilities industries. The magazine commended the many achievements of SNS that have added value to the L&T brand.

Utilities Middle East, part of the ITP Media Group, focuses on the region’s energy sector. The magazine’s Utilities 2020 Power List celebrates the top 50 professionals who continue to contribute towards building a resilient utilities sector in the Middle East.

L&T’s Group Chairman, Mr. A. M. Naik, was honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by Business Standard. The distinguished jury for the ‘Business Standard Annual Awards 2020’ was unanimous in its choice of AMN as winner of the award, after considering several outstanding individuals who have left a deep and lasting impact on India’s corporate history. The jury recognised AMN as a trailblazer, not only in the world of business but also in the sphere of philanthropy.

L&T’s CEO & MD, Mr. S. N. Subrahmanyan, ranked 11th on Construction Week’s prestigious Power 100 list – 2021. The list features the Middle East’s 100 Most Influential Construction Leaders of 2021. Under his stewardship, L&T has grown to be one of the biggest contractors in the GCC region, where it has secured some of the major design-and-build as well as several engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts. 

The All India Management Association (AIMA) has conferred the ‘Outstanding Institution Builder Award’ on L&T Group Chairman Mr A M Naik. The award acknowledges Mr Naik’s stellar role in building L&T, transforming it and shaping it into its present shape.

Construction Week – a leading magazine in the construction and infrastructure space – has presented L&T Group Chairman Mr A M Naik with its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award ceremony took place at a premier hotel in Mumbai on 26th November 2021. The award was chosen by the Global Editorial Board of ITP Media Group that publishes Construction Week.

2020

Mr. S. N. Subrahmanyan, ranked 13th on Construction Week’s prestigious Power 100 list, which was released in its June 2020 issue. The list features the Middle East’s 100 Most Influential Construction Leaders of 2020.

Mr. S.N. Subrahmanyan, CEO & Managing Director, was conferred the ‘CEO of the Year – Private’ Award at the second edition of CNBC-AWAAZ CEO Awards. On behalf of SNS, the Award was received by Anupam Kumar (VP and Head – MMH SBU) from the CM of Chhattisgarh, Shri Bhupesh Baghel, on 7th February 2020 at Raipur.

Mr. A M Naik, Group Chairman, has been conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Indian Buildings Congress (IBC). This is in recognition of Mr. Naik’s valuable services and outstanding contribution to the construction industry. Mr. SN Roy, Whole-time Director & Sr EVP, received the Award on behalf of Mr. Naik.

Heavy Civil Infrastructure IC received the ‘Golden Peacock HR Excellence Award’ for the year 2020, by the Awards Jury under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Justice M. N.  Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of India and former Chairman, National Human Rights Commission of India, and National Commission for Constitution of India Reforms.

Mr. S.N. Subrahmanyan, CEO & Managing Director was awarded the prestigious IIM-JRD Tata Award for ‘Excellence in Corporate Leadership in Metallurgical Industries’ for 2019 at the 57th National Metallurgist’s Day Awards Function held on November 14, 2019.

At the sixth edition of CEO Awards held in Mumbai on August 05, 2019, Mr. S.N. Subrahmanyan, CEO & MD, chose Mr. A.M. Naik, Group Chairman, for the prestigious CEO Mentor Award for 2019. A remarkable leader with great strategic foresight, Mr. Naik has led L&T to extraordinary heights and Mr. Subrahmanyan considers Mr. Naik as his guide and mentor.

Buildings & Factories (B&F) IC’s Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium at Rourkela, Odisha, has found its place and entered the Guinness Book of World Records (GWR) as the largest fully seated hockey stadium in the world.  

GWR has officially recognized the colossal Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium as having the world’s largest occupancy and seating capacity of 21,800. It is an achievement to be cherished by the country, the sports fraternity of the nation, and the various stakeholders associated with this prestigious project! 

Heavy Civil Infrastructure (HCI) IC has been awarded the Golden Peacock Innovation Management Award (GPIMA) at the Annual Corporate Social Responsibility and Golden Peacock Awards ceremony organized by the Institute of Directors (IOD) on 12 January 2023 at Hotel Taj Lands End, Mumbai, in the presence of business and industry leaders.

Heavy Civil Infrastructure (HCI) IC was awarded the Golden Peacock National Quality Award at the 31st World Congress on Leadership for Business Excellence and Innovation, organized by the Institute of Directors (IOD).  

The Golden Peacock Awards jury declared HCI IC as the winner of the Golden Peacock National Quality Award on 28 June 2022. The famed awards trophy and certificate were presented to HCI IC at the specially organized Golden Peacock Awards Presentation Ceremony on 22 July 2022 at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Chennai, in the presence of business and industry leaders. 

Heavy Civil Infrastructure (HCI) IC was named the ‘Metro Rail Contractor of the Year’ at the 12th Construction Week Awards held at Sahara Star, Mumbai, on 23 September 2022. The Construction Week Awards are well recognized and highly valued, and they celebrate the achievements of the country's construction and infrastructure players. The awards recognize and reward individual excellence, corporate prowess, and project success. 

Heavy Civil Infrastructure (HCI) IC was awarded the prestigious title of ‘Most Admired Company in the Urban Transportation Sector’ by the Times of India Group on 27 September 2022 during the 7th Economic Times Infra Focus Awards 2022, held at Hyatt Regency, Delhi. 

The jury comprised several key personalities in the government transportation sector such as Mr. Sudhendu Sinha, Advisor - NITI Aayog; Mr. Amit Kumar Ghosh, Additional Secretary – Highway, MoRTH; Dr. Kamal Soi, Member - National Road Safety Council, MoRTH; Mr. J. K. Goyal, Senior Principal Scientist, CSIR-CRRI; and others.  

The jury evaluated each applicant based on the uniqueness of the projects carried out so far, and innovations in terms of new technology/sustainability features adopted in the metros and bridges business. HCI IC emerged as the winner. 

Heavy Civil Infrastructure (HCI) IC’s Extradosed Cable Stayed Bridge across Durgam Cheruvu Lake, Hyderabad, has received the Outstanding Prestressed Concrete Structure in the Country award from the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI). At a grand function held at Hotel Eros, Nehru Place, New Delhi, on 23 September 2022, the ICI and the International Federation for Structural Concrete (fib) organized the Asian Conference on Ecstasy in Concrete (ACECON 2022), during which this project was awarded. 

L&T’s Renewables Business is the Titanium Winner for the EPC Services Category in the Middle East Region in SolarQuarter’s Customer’s Choice Awards 2022 – Middle East. 

The Mauritius Business Awards (MBA) announced L&T as the Most Innovative Company for the Mauritius Metro Express Project at the 2nd annual Mauritius Business Awards 2022. 

Water Digest organized the 15th Water Digest Water Awards, in partnership with UNESCO, on 29 March 2022 at the ITC Maurya, New Delhi. The event was supported by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, and NITI Aayog. 

WET IC was adjudged as the winner in the following 6 prestigious categories for their commendable efforts in developing the Indian water infrastructure:

Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) IC – Renewables (Domestic) was named the ‘Best Construction Team of the Year’ for its performance in the 230 MW Solar PV Plant at Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, and the ‘Best O&M Team of the Year’ at the Solaris India Awards 2022 hosted by SolarQuarter at the Leela Ambience, Gurugram, on 27 September 2022. Mr. Deepak Kumar Nayak, Head – Renewables (Domestic) BU, was recognized as one of the ‘100 Most Powerful & Influential Business Leaders of 2022’ in the Indian solar industry. 

The L&T Construction Research and Testing Centre (LTCRTC) has received the Prof. S. K. Joshi Laboratory Excellence Award instituted by the Quality Council of India (QCI). The award was presented during the silver jubilee celebrations of QCI at New Delhi on 6 October 2022. Shri. Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Textile, Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, was the chief guest at the event. The occasion was graced by many other eminent personalities like Shri. Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa; Mr. Adil Zainulbhai, Chairman – QCI; and Dr. Ravi P. Singh, Secretary General – QCI, among many others. 

Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) Middle East received 2 awards at the MEED Project Awards – Power Projects of the Year for the construction of the Nahadah 400/132 kV 2×500 MVA Transformers Grid Station and Associated OHL, Oman, and the construction of three new 132/11 kV substations and related 132 kV power lines in SEK, Kuwait. 

The Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) is a media publishing company focused on economic and business news in the Middle East. MEED presents these awards to projects across the MENA region that are best-in-class construction and utility projects. 

The Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business was named the runner-up for the Project of the Year in the ‘Medium’ category at the Project Management Institute (PMI) South Asia Conference 2022 for its 400 kV Quad Moose Double Circuit Palamuru Transmission Line Project in Telangana.

Heavy Civil Infrastructure IC has won the prestigious 'Asian Leadership Award' under Quality Leadership Category (19th Asia Edition). This award distinguishes and honours leaders who have contributed and shaped the Asian economy and are visionaries behind today's outstanding businesses.

The Asian Leadership Summit and Awards will showcase best practices learning and learnings from best practices. Power Transmission & Distribution IC’s Transmission Line Tower Factory at Pithampur received the prestigious ‘Golden Peacock National Quality Award – 2021’ for significant achievement in the field of Quality Management System across the Construction Sector from the Institute of Directors, India. This award recognizes TLT Unit’s strong Quality Management System across its various processes.

L&T was honoured at the fourth edition of Dubai’s Taqdeer Awards for providing the best working conditions for workmen at various project sites across the UAE.

HCI IC’s Medigadda Barrage project bagged the Formwork Award 2020 for the best use of formwork in civil engineering across the construction sector from the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers, India.

L&T bagged the Most Innovative Company Award for the Mauritius Metro Express Project from Mauritius Business Awards (MBA). WET IC bagged a slew of awards at the ‘Water Digest 2018’ event which was organized by Times Network in association with Ministry of Water Resources, GOI and UNESCO India, and showcased some of the best practices and success stories in the field of water conservation and the related technologies for sustainable management of water resources. 2016

GCC’s most prestigious projects received the region’s top honors for project excellence at MEED Quality Awards for Projects held in association with Mashreq in Dubai on 25 May 2016. The MEED Quality Award for Projects is distinguished from other awards programs because it evaluates the outcome of the construction process, rather than the process itself.

The awards aim to raise standards through benchmarking the best practice specified in the project brief and excellence provided in the project delivery. MEED has created an independent judging process, with the help of the societies of Engineers across the GCC. Lamar Bausher Project (Muttawar Residential) of LTO-B&F has won National Winner under the category “Residential Project of the Year” and Darsait - Al Wadikabir Flyover Project of LTO-TI has won National Winner and GCC Winner under the category “Road and Bridge Project of the Year”.

L&T Construction's Solar Business has been awarded at the prestigious Earth Care Awards 2015, an event organized by JSW in association with Times of India at New Delhi on 11th Sept 2015. The award won by L&T's Solar business is for ‘Innovation in solar plant design, innovation in solar structural design, installation of different rooftop PV & microgrid technology test bed projects, and CSTI institutes for training the solar and microgrid technicians' in the category ‘Innovations for climate protection'.

The safety honors list included DDUGJY - Madhubani project, under Bihar Cluster, UPD BU, which received an EHS excellency award for excellent EHS performance and EHS system implementation at site. The award was handed over by Mr. S K Das (Electrical Superintendent Engineer - Darbhanga Circle, NBPDCL) to the Project Manager Mr. Swapan Kumar Mahato (L&T) in the presence of Executive Engineers of the circle, representative of PMA (RODIC / URS) and Project Managers of other agencies working in Darbhanga circle. L&T's Tata Housing Project has bagged the prestigious GRIHA Award 2015 under the category - Exemplary Demonstration of Construction workers' Health and Safety. The award was presented to L&T by Shri. Ashok Chawla - Chairman-TERI (Former Finance Secretary to the Govt. of India), Dr. Ajay Mathur (Director General-TERI) and Ms. Mili Majumdar (Secretary cum Treasurer- GRIHA Council) at a GRIHA Summit held on 19th February 2016 in India Habitat Center, New Delhi.

GRIHA is an acronym for Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment.
