Located in Tabuk Province, Saudi Arabia, AMAALA is a flagship ultra-luxury tourism development prioritizing sustainability. Developed by AMAALA, a PIF-owned company, this destination promises to redefine luxury tourism.
L&T Construction is developing the central infrastructure, including a 250 MWp solar power plant and 726 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) which will be an optimized off-grid renewable energy system. The scope for power systems also involves biofuel based internal combustion engines, three Gas Insulated Substations, high voltage transmission lines and medium voltage distribution networks.
L&T will also be developing water systems involving constructing a 37 MLD Seawater Reverse Osmosis Plant, 6 MLD Sewage Treatment Plants, marine works including intake and outfall, tank farms, potable water network, wastewater network and treated sewage effluent network.
The project comprises three key areas:
1. Central Infrastructure: Housing the solar plant and BESS.
2. Triple Bay: Luxury hotels.
3. Staff Village: Accommodations for staff.
With power generation at the Central Infrastructure and consumption at Triple Bay and Staff Village, this project will showcase innovative solutions for sustainable tourism development.
