Creating high quality national infrastructure for transportation is one of the prime areas of ECC’s operations. The Roads & Runways Business Unit has executed some of the very important stretches on the national highways and state highways including expressways.  Strengthening and widening of roads constitute yet another major activity. 

Expertise also covers construction of race tracks/test tracks for high-speed motor sports requiring precision and specialised surface treatment. Maintenance works for national and state highways are carried out using sophisticated equipment for resurfacing. 

The Business Unit also builds world-class runways to international standard specifications.  Some of the longest runways in the country with compatibility for landing the new generation aircrafts like Airbus A-380 with CAT IIIB Instrument Landing System have been built by L&T
