For all these projects, EDRC provides engineering
services, viz., feasibility studies, project reports
and due diligence reports; system engineering, including
process and instrumentation diagrams (PID); architectural,
structural and civil design; procurement engineering;
detailed engineering with bill of quantities (BOQ);
building services; mechanical system engineering;
electrical and instrumentation engineering; geo-technical
engineering; hydraulic engineering; erection and
commissioning supervision; inspection and quality
assurance supports.
EDRC offers designs for certain specialized and
complicated structures like high-rise buildings,
long-span bridges, large storage silos, prill towers,
RCC pylons, system housing, tall chimneys, natural
and induced draft cooling towers, erection schemes
for heavy lifts and all types of geo-technical engineering
solutions.
EDRC’s pioneering work includes large-span
pre-cast, pre-stressed concrete structures, high
rise structures, natural and induced draft cooling
towers, effluent and water treatment plants, public
buildings and system housing including IT parks,
hotels, hospitals, stadiums, airports...

Resources
EDRC, (Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata &
Middle East) has over 600 experienced design engineers/technical
personnel employed in various engineering disciplines.
Fast and accurate solutions are provided through
advanced automation facilities. A network of computers
with Windows NT/2000 operating system helps in sharing
of resources.
EDRC makes use of engineering software like NASTRAN,
NISA, SAP 2000, I-DEAS, STAAD PRO, STRAP, ETABS,
GRSTRUDL, PDMS, REVIEW REALITY, PLS-CADD, STRUCAD,
MICROSTATION, AUTOCAD 2005, LAND DEVELOPMENT DESKTOP,
3D STUDIO MAX, VISUAL MODFLOW, FLOW MASTER, CAEPIPE,
CEASER II, ETAP, TALREN, BENTLEY ARCHITECTURE REVIT,
WATERCAD, SEWER CAD, etc.
In addition, a variety of structural design software
has been developed in-house for regular application.
Research & Development
As part of its R&D efforts, EDRC constantly
upgrades its knowledge and expertise in construction
technology and complements the operations of ECC.
In addition, it has full-fledged laboratories with
facilities for concrete and soil testing including
asphalt technology at its campus in Chennai.
