World over, public-private partnerships (PPP) have become the cost-effective way for Governments to fund and kick-start infrastructure projects that might otherwise never see the light of day. Public-Private Partnerships between proactive and visionary Governments, and seasoned and experienced private partners, are proving to be win-win propositions for all players as well as the public at large.

L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Limited (L&T-IDPL) – a subsidiary company of L&T – works towards PPPs for various infrastructure projects. It targets projects to be executed on principles of Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT), Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT), Build-Own-Lease-and-Transfer (BOLT), Build-Own-Operate-Share-and-Transfer (BOOST) and their variants including the annuity approach. The projects could typically be promoted by consortia of private and public sector companies, financial institutions and MNCs.

L&T-IDPL has in the past successfully promoted and executed many infrastructure projects through public-private partnership with the Central and various State Governments in India. Projects developed and targeted by L&T–IDPL include highways and expressways, bridges, seaports/terminals, airports, ropeways, water supply projects, sanitary engineering projects, bulk material handling projects, power transmission utilities, IT and industrial parks/estates, petro parks, public car parks, gas/oil pipelines, hydel power projects and non-conventional energy projects.

The Company is manned by a team of highly motivated and knowledgeable planners, negotiators, conceptualisers, economists and financial experts who ensure that the nitty-gritty of forming Special Purpose Vehicles for each large project, getting the right talent together, financing and putting the agreement into motion, are all handled professionally.

L&T-IDPL draws on L&T’s traditional strengths, wide-ranging experience and expertise to execute projects on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis. It has the single biggest advantage of offering ‘single-window’ solutions to Governments and public sector organisations. The company has dedicated in-house teams for every single aspect of project implementation – from planning to execution to operation and maintenance - and scores a perfect 10 when it comes to credentials, experience and track record.
