BIAL is a JV company, in which Karnataka State Industrial & Investment Development Corporation (KSIIDC) and Airports Authority of India (AAI) hold 26% of the equity. The balance equity of 74% is contributed by joint venture partners, viz. Siemens, L&T and Unique Zurich Airport of Switzerland.

The first phase of the project covers construction of a 4000-m runway, a state-of-the-art terminal building and other infrastructure needed to efficiently manage a modern airport. The airport has handled a traffic  of 7.2 million passengers from May 2008 to March 2009. We have exited from the project SPV.
